“A stimulating and wide range of events focusing on the wanders of science, technology, engineering and mathematics”

Here are my 5 top picks for this year’s festival:

1. Sexy Science – Black Box, 28th Feb, 3pm. £6

Emer Maguire, UK Fame Lab winner, has an incredible talent for bringing her songstress skills & humour to the world of science.  Her exploration of the chemistry & biology of love promises to be an engaging and entertaining event! Here’s a little snippet from the festival launch…

2.Late Lab 2 – Ulster Museum, 26th Feb, 7pm. £5

See the the Ulster Museum transformed into a giant laboratory with interactive science experiments throughout the building.  Grab a chemistry cocktail at this ultimate science party!

3.Lotions, Potions & Explosions – Ulster Museum, 20th Feb, 12:30pm & 2:30pm. £3 or £10 family ticket.

A great one for the kids, join Scientific Sue as she demonstrates crazy experiments you can carry out with the contents of your kitchen cupboard.  Lots of audience participation.

4.Better Faster Stronger – W5, 18th – 21st Feb. £free with W5 admission.

5.Turing Lecture – Belfast City Hall, 25th Feb, 5:30pm. £free but pre-registration required.

No science festival could be complete without a lecture or two.  Join Robert Schukai, Head of Advanced Product Innovation at Thomas Reuters, at this prestigious lecture series to explore our future with personal mobile devices, data & our “hyperconnected environment”.
